Water network monitoring

Stress Sentinel: continuous water quality monitoring for water networks

Stress Sentinel is the continuous monitoring platform for water infrastructure developed by Pulse S.r.l.: stations with multi-parameter sensors installed at critical points of the network, real-time predictive alerts and automatically generated compliance reports. It is designed for aqueducts, drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, tanks, irrigation channels and industrial networks that cannot afford surprises.

  • water quality monitoring
  • water networks and aqueducts
  • multi-parameter sensors
  • pH, turbidity and conductivity
  • residual chlorine and nitrates
  • predictive alerts
  • compliance reports Legislative Decree 31/2001
  • EU Directive 2020/2184
  • SCADA and GIS integration
  • drinking water and wastewater treatment

What it does

It measures the parameters selected for the context: pH, turbidity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, residual chlorine, nitrates, temperature, water level, flow and pressure. The decision-support module correlates parameters over time and anticipates critical events, pH drifts, turbidity spikes, pressure drops, contamination and leaks: the alert comes before the problem is visible.

Data becomes quality reports in PDF and CSV, structured under Italian Legislative Decree 31/2001 and EU Directive 2020/2184, ready for control bodies, audits and ESG reporting.

How it works

Each station monitors up to four parameters and transmits via 4G SIM, Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN, with solar power and buffer battery for sites without a network. Ultrasonic level sensors and electromagnetic flow meters cover tanks, channels and pipelines.

Open REST APIs bring data into the SCADA systems, GIS platforms and network management software already in use: Stress Sentinel joins the existing operational flow instead of replacing it.

Who it is for

Stress Sentinel serves two complementary roles, from the field to management.

  • Plant managers and technicians: network map with real-time status of every sensor, custom thresholds per measuring point, immediate push notifications, maintenance history.
  • Analysts and managers: historical trends per parameter, regulatory compliance KPIs, automatic reports for control bodies, detection of recurring anomalies to plan structural interventions.

Key features

Configurable multi-parameter sensors

Up to four parameters per station among pH, turbidity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, residual chlorine, nitrates, temperature, level, flow and pressure.

Water level and flow

Ultrasonic sensors and electromagnetic meters for tanks, channels and pipelines: variations, leaks and flow anomalies surface before they become emergencies.

Predictive alerts

The system correlates parameters over time and anticipates pH drifts, turbidity spikes, pressure drops and contamination.

Automatic compliance reports

PDF and CSV structured for Legislative Decree 31/2001 and EU Directive 2020/2184, ready for control bodies, audits and ESG reporting.

Off-grid connectivity

4G SIM, Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN and solar power with buffer battery for remote installations without infrastructure.

SCADA and GIS integration

Open REST APIs towards SCADA, GIS and water network management software already in use.

Application areas

  • Aqueducts and urban water networks
  • Drinking water treatment plants
  • Wastewater treatment plants
  • Tanks, basins and water storage
  • Irrigation channels and agricultural reservoirs
  • Watercourses and environmental monitoring
  • Industrial water networks and process plants
  • Regulatory compliance and environmental audits

Frequently asked questions

Which parameters does Stress Sentinel monitor?

pH, turbidity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, residual chlorine, nitrates, temperature, water level, flow and pressure, up to four per station, chosen for each point of the network.

Does it integrate with the SCADA or GIS I already use?

Yes. Open REST APIs bring data into existing SCADA systems, GIS platforms and network management software without replacing them.

Are the reports valid for control bodies?

Reports are structured under Legislative Decree 31/2001 and EU Directive 2020/2184 and are ready for audits and reporting; formal validation remains with the competent authority.

Does it work in sites without power and network?

Yes. Solar power with buffer battery and transmission via 4G SIM or LoRaWAN allow remote installations without infrastructure.

How many measuring points can I connect?

Each station is a node of the network and the map shows them all with real-time status; the number grows with the infrastructure, with no platform limit.
